How to Grow Grapes from Seeds

There are a huge number of grape varietals in the world, so pick the proper one. Pick the variety that will work best for you to cultivate grapes with the most success.
Where to find grape seeds: Get your seeds once you’ve decided which grape variety to cultivate. You can obtain them from commercially grown grapes, from a nursery, from wild grapevines in your yard (in some regions), or from another grower.
Make sure the seeds will grow. Make sure the seeds are sound and in good shape by inspecting them. Gently press the seed between your fingers. Touching a healthy seed feels firm.
Get the seeds ready. To get rid of any pulp or other waste, take the viable seeds and thoroughly wash them. For up to 24 hours, soak them in a tiny amount of distilled water.
Build up your seed stock. Many seeds need a period of cold, moist weather before they can start to germinate. This occurs naturally when seeds are allowed to spend the winter in the ground. Through stratification, you can reproduce these circumstances. The optimal time to start stratifying grape seeds is in December (winter in the northern hemisphere).
Set out your seeds. Take the seeds out of the fridge in the early spring and plant them in pots with quality soil. In small pots or larger pots with at least 1 1/2″ (3.8 cm) between them, plant seeds one at a time.
Give your seedlings a new home.

Transplant your seedlings into 10 cm pots when they are about 3″ (8 cm) tall. Keep your seedlings indoors or in a greenhouse until they are 12″ (30 cm) tall, have a strong root system, and have at least 5-6 leaves for the healthiest plants.
