ButaForce Herbicide
ButaForce is a selective systemic pre-emergence agricultural herbicide useful for the control of annual grasses and certain broad-leaved weeds in rice, both seeded and transplanted. It shows selectivity in cotton, groundnut, wheat and several brassica crops like cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli.
Mechanism of action
Preemergent herbicides form a chemical barrier over the soil/container surface. The barrier is typically ½ to 1 inch thick (depending on the product, soil type, and method of incorporation). Fortunately, most weed seeds germinate in the top ½ inch of the soil.
Active Ingredient
- Butachlor 50 % EC.
- One bottlecap to 60ml of water for reconstitution.
Description
ButaForce is a selective systemic pre-emergence herbicide.
- Container and/or fields must be weed-free before applying preemergence herbicides. Thus it is recommended that the herbicide is applied soon after potting or planting.
- Many weeds germinate within days of receiving optimal environmental conditions. Thus, after you’ve planted your fields, and in the process brought weed seed to the soil surface, many weeds can germinate within several days.
Benefits:
- Highest levels of long-term weed control.
- Greater consistency in a wider range of weather conditions.
- Less packaging, handling, and waste than other herbicide formulations.
- Symptoms develop more quickly allowing cultivation intervals to be reduced.
Precautions:
- Not to be sprayed in windy conditions (above 15km/hr).
- Do not allow spray mist to drift onto desirable vegetation.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
What is ButaForce Herbicide?
ButaForce Herbicide is a selective, systemic, pre-emergence herbicide used to control annual grasses and certain broadleaf weeds in various crops, including rice, cotton, groundnut, wheat, and brassica vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, and broccoli.
How does ButaForce Herbicide work?
ButaForce acts as a pre-emergent herbicide, forming a chemical barrier in the top layer of soil. This barrier disrupts weed seed germination and growth, preventing weed establishment.
What is the active ingredient in ButaForce Herbicide?
The active ingredient in ButaForce Herbicide is butachlor (50% EC).
When should I apply ButaForce Herbicide?
ButaForce is most effective when applied as a pre-emergent herbicide, soon after planting or transplanting crops. This ensures the herbicide is present before weed seeds germinate.
What are the benefits of using ButaForce Herbicide?
- Long-term weed control: Provides effective weed control for an extended period.
- Wide range of applications: Suitable for use in various crops.
- Reduced packaging and waste: Conveniently concentrated formulation minimizes packaging and waste.
- Faster symptom development: Allows for quicker identification and management of weed emergence.
What are the precautions for using ButaForce Herbicide?
- Avoid application in windy conditions: Do not apply when wind speeds exceed 15 km/hr to prevent spray drift onto desirable plants.
- Minimize spray drift: Take necessary precautions to avoid contact with non-target vegetation.
