Lifeline is a UPL herbicide containing glufosinate-ammonium. It is non-selective and post-emergence: it kills the green parts of weeds it touches by blocking glutamine production, which shuts down photosynthesis. It controls annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds, including weeds that no longer die from glyphosate. Farmers use it for land clearing before planting maize, soybean and cotton, and as a directed spray in cassava, oil palm, fruit and nut plantations.

How to use
Recommended rate: 2 to 3 litres per hectare. Follow the label.
- Maize, soybean, cotton: spray weeds before the crop emerges.
- Cassava: spray weeds between rows with a shielded or directed nozzle when cassava has 4 to 6 leaves. Do not wet the crop.
- Oil palm, fruit and nut crops: use as a spot or directed spray around the base.
Tips for best results
- Spray young, actively growing weeds for the best kill.
- Good coverage is key because it is a contact herbicide.
- Any green crop tissue it touches will be damaged.
Safety
- Read and follow the product label before use. The label rate is the legal and correct rate.
- Wear gloves, boots, long sleeves and a face mask or shield when mixing and spraying.
- Do not eat, drink or smoke while spraying. Wash hands and face after use.
- Keep away from children, food and animal feed. Store in the original container in a cool, dry, locked place.
- Do not wash sprayers or empty containers in streams, wells or fish ponds.
Frequently asked questions
How is Lifeline different from glyphosate?
Glyphosate moves to the roots and kills slowly. Lifeline works faster on contact and kills weeds that have become resistant to glyphosate.
Can I spray Lifeline over my cassava?
No. Only spray between rows with a shield or directed nozzle so the spray does not touch cassava leaves.
How soon can I plant after spraying Lifeline?
Glufosinate has little soil activity, so planting can usually follow soon after weeds dry. Check the label for your crop.
