Pasarella RZ is a hybrid sweet pepper from Dutch breeder Rijk Zwaan, bred for greenhouse (protected) production. It sets fruit easily and keeps producing well, giving semi-blocky, glossy red fruits of about 220 g that resist cracking. It carries resistance to potato virus Y (PVY 0,1), tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV 0) and tobamovirus (Tm 0-2), an advantage where thrips spread TSWV. It suits greenhouse farmers supplying red peppers to supermarkets.

How to plant
- Raise seedlings in trays with clean seedling mix inside the greenhouse or a screened nursery.
- Transplant when seedlings have 6 to 8 true leaves into well-drained beds or grow bags.
- In greenhouses, a common density is about 2.5 to 3 plants per square metre, trained on strings.
- Apply a light base fertilizer such as NPK 5-10-10 before transplanting.
Care after planting
- Water moderately; never let roots sit in water.
- Do not over-feed. Too much fertilizer gives leaves, not fruit.
- Train and prune stems to 2 or 3 leaders for even fruit size.
- Keep insect netting in good repair to limit thrips and whiteflies.
