Relisate Herbicide (Total Weedicide | 1L)

Relisate is a non-selective, systemic herbicide for clearing weeds before planting. It is absorbed through the leaves and carried down to the roots, so weeds die completely instead of growing back after a few weeks. Farmers use it for land preparation, weeding around oil palm, cocoa, cashew and citrus, and keeping fence lines and compounds clean.

Product details

• Active ingredient: Glyphosate (soluble liquid)
• Type: non-selective, systemic (kills all green plants it touches)
• Use: land preparation before planting, plantation weeding, non-crop areas
• Controls: annual and perennial grasses (including spear grass), broadleaf weeds and sedges

How to use

Mix in 100 to 200 litres of clean water per hectare. Typical rates: annual grasses and broadleaf weeds 3 L/ha; perennial grasses 4 L/ha; perennial broadleaf weeds 6 L/ha; non-crop areas 5 L/ha. Always confirm with the label. Do not store diluted herbicide. Allow at least 6 hours without rain after spraying.

Tips for best results

• Spray in the morning or evening when weeds are actively growing, not during drought.
• Do not spray on windy days. Drift will kill crops nearby.
• Do not let the spray touch the leaves or green stems of your crops. Use a shield around young trees.
• Glyphosate is inactivated by soil, so it does not stop new weed seeds from germinating later.

Safety

• Read and follow the product label before use. The label rate is the legal and correct rate.
• Wear gloves, boots, long sleeves and a face mask or shield when mixing and spraying.
• Do not eat, drink or smoke while spraying. Wash hands and face after use.
• Keep away from children, food and animal feed. Store in the original container in a cool, dry, locked place.
• Do not wash sprayers or empty containers in streams, wells or fish ponds.

Frequently asked questions

Will Relisate kill my crops?
Yes, if it touches their leaves. It is non-selective, so use it before planting or as a directed spray around established tree crops.

How long before the weeds die?
You will see yellowing in about 5 to 10 days. Perennial grasses can take 2 to 3 weeks to dry completely.

When can I plant after spraying?
Usually 7 to 14 days after spraying, once the weeds have dried. Follow the label for your crop.

Is it a good replacement for paraquat?
Yes. Paraquat is banned in Nigeria. Glyphosate herbicides like Relisate are the most common legal choice for clearing land before planting.
