How to use
Set the cage on level ground in a draught-free house. Fix the feeders and drinkers, then warm the house before the chicks arrive.
Keep day-old chicks at about 30 to 33°C with 40 to 60% humidity. Reduce the temperature by about 2°C each week until you reach about 21°C.
Tips for best results
- Chicks huddled tightly are cold; add heat.
- Chicks panting and lazy are too hot; reduce heat or improve air flow.
- Chicks spread evenly and active means the temperature is right.
- Clean droppings trays often to keep ammonia low.
