FORCEUP (Non-Selective) is a pre-planting herbicide, carefully formulated preparation to control the emerged weeds. It acts by inhibiting 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate (EPSP), an enzyme of the aromatic acid biosynthetic pathway. This prevents the synthesis of essential aromatic amino acids needed for protein biosynthesis.

Mode of Action: It is a non-selective systemic foliar-applied, total agriculture herbicide with rapid translocation throughout the plant for the control of most stubborn annual and perennial grasses. The green parts of the weeds absorb this product and not the mature brown bark.

Directions of use:

  1. Ensure that the sprayer is properly and correctly calibrated before use.
  2. Shake the container before use.
  3. Half fill the sprayer with clean water and add the recommended quantity of this product.
  4. Agitate during the completion of filling, rinse at least three times, adding the rinsing water to the spray tank on each occasion prior to completion of filling.
  5. Spray only on actively growing weeds.
  6. Apply after leaves expand fully.
  7. If the container is empty, then destroy the container but if this product still remains in the container, replace the cap tightly after use.
Weeds to be controlled Rate of Use

FORCEUP (Non-Selective) Herbicide: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is FORCEUP (Non-Selective) Herbicide?

FORCEUP is a non-selective, pre-planting herbicide used to control emerged weeds before planting crops. It works by disrupting a specific enzyme in plants, preventing them from synthesizing essential amino acids and ultimately killing them.

What types of weeds does FORCEUP control?

FORCEUP is effective against a broad spectrum of weeds, including:

  • Annual and perennial grasses
  • Broadleaf weeds
  • Biannual weeds
  • Tree stump regrowth
  • Sugarcane

How does FORCEUP work?

  • Systemic: The product is absorbed by the green leaves of weeds and translocates throughout the plant, killing it.
  • Foliar-applied: FORCEUP is applied directly to the leaves of weeds, not the soil.

How to Use FORCEUP Safely and Effectively:

  • Read the label carefully before use. The information provided here is a general overview, and specific instructions may vary depending on the product formulation and regulations in your region.
  • Calibrate your sprayer to ensure accurate application rates.
  • Apply only to actively growing weeds for optimal results.
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves, goggles, and clothing to avoid skin and eye contact.
  • Do not contaminate water sources like ponds or streams.
  • Dispose of empty containers and leftover product safely according to local regulations.

Here are some specific questions you might have after reading the passage:

  • What is the recommended application rate for FORCEUP?

The recommended application rate depends on the type of weeds you are trying to control. The passage provides a table with application rates for different scenarios (e.g., annual grasses vs. tree stump control).

  • Can I mix FORCEUP with other herbicides?

The passage states that mixing FORCEUP with other herbicides might reduce its effectiveness. However, it can be mixed with specific products like ForceUron and Extraforce. Always refer to the label for approved tank mixes.

  • What should I do if I accidentally come into contact with FORCEUP?

The passage outlines first-aid measures for eye, skin, and inhalation exposure. In case of any accidental contact, follow the recommended steps and seek medical attention if necessary.
